Future events

  • Ironman Challenge 7th September 2008
  • Graeme Hastings is taking part in the gruelling Ironman Challenge.

Not for the faint hearted, the race starts with a 2.4mile swim in Sherborne Lake, before a challenging 112 mile bike ride through the Dorset countryside. The epic finishes with a full marathon through the castle grounds and the town of Sherborne.

Graeme is an enthusiastic runner and swimmer and had been contemplating taking part in this event for some time.

Graeme recalls: "I wanted to do this for a good cause and when I found out how passionate Gill and Jenny are about Factor 50 I couldn’t think of a better one. I started to think of the ways I could help and that’s how I got involved with making the website too."

Now Graeme is determined to complete this challenge for the melanoma cause.

    Past events

  • BUPA Great Manchester Run 18th May 2008
  • UKFast's Mike Anson feel the wind in his hair as he runs the final stretch of the 10k

Nineteen of UKFast’s staff members took part in the Great Manchester run. The BUPA Great Manchester Run is part of the Manchester World of Sport 08 campaign, the single biggest year of sport in Manchester since the 2002 Commonwealth Games.

Every employee that took part completed the course, most in under an hour (some in slightly longer than that). However, it's been reported than one of our more athletic staff did it in a matter of 38minutes.

Managing Director, Lawrence Jones said: “There are people of all abilities running. It’s great to see them all working hard, training for a good cause.”

The company trained for the event in order to raise money for Factor 50, a skin cancer charity.

UKFast wearing pink to raise money for breast cancer

  • UKFast Wear it pink 2007
  • In October 2007, the UKFast team raised £274 for breast cancer. The office was aglow with all shades of pink as magenta slippers, fuschia belts, rose tinted tank tops and shocking scarfs were all put to creative use.

It was a bright day, enjoyed by all, which was most importantly for a good cause.

  • UKFast Wear it pink 2006
  • In 2006 UKFast raised a total of £320 for breast cancer and it was a delight to see our communications director in pink pants.
