About UKFast

Founded in 1999 by Lawrence Jones and his wife Gail, UKFast is now a major player in the UK internet hosting arena. The husband and wife team set up the company after experiencing poor hosting services themselves when trying to run an online art gallery website. They believed that they could do better, so they did.
UKFast's focus from the start has been to deliver high quality hosting solutions with a particular focus on customer service excellence. This has set UKFast apart from its rivals and enabled the company to dramatically grow turnover year on year every year.
In 2008 we have over 60 staff, working in all areas of internet provision, including sales, technical support, design and copywriting. The business is expanding rapidly through both organic growth and acquisitions and it continues to be privately owned and profitable, as it has been from the start.
The video above gives a taster of what we are all about. It is a behind-the -scenes look at preparations for the UKFast stand at Internet World 2008.
Financially secure business
In 2007, UKFast increased turnover to £4.2m to deliver an impressive £1.45m pre-tax profit. The company remains cash rich and is in an excellent financial position going forward.
What makes UKFast different from other web hosting and dedicated server providers?
Network excellence. Our bandwidth is uncontested and aggregated, guaranteeing 24x7 connectivity. Coupled with the most sophisticated network in the UK, our bandwidth is dramatically faster than competing ISP's meaning our customers get a competitive edge.
A technology firm that focuses on people. Our business is servers and we deliver industry leading technology. However, our focus is our clients and providing the optimum support for their individual needs. And this is why we are...
Multi award-winning. UKFast has been named the ISPA's 'Best Hosting Provider' for the last four years straight. Furthermore, the company consistently ranks as one of the UK's fastest bandwidth providers, officially rated by industry monitor Webperf (we are listed by our server name, GraphiteRack).
An environmental commitment. We are leading the way in green initiatives with Ecoservers. The new technology is an affordable and scalable hosting solution and because they use less energy, Ecoservers cost less to power. It's great for businesses who cannot afford to sacrifice performance online and need eco-friendly business options.

Corporate Social Responsibility
Giving back to communities and the environment. Treating people with respect and dignity. Investing into the future generations. Everyday we strive to we demonstrate our beliefs in the way we do business.
In fact, corporate social responsibility at UKFast runs deeply throughout our company. Here are some of the commitments we've made to do business in a socially responsible manner.
Helping to protect the environment
By taking steps to reduce waste from our operations and recycle, we can preserve the earth's natural resources and enhance the quality of lives around the globe.
We actively seek opportunities to minimise our environmental impact from recycling all paper and packages and carbon offsetting to building new eco friendly facilities.
Being carbon neutral is our goal and that's why we're saving woodland from development. For every additional 100 Ecoservers we sell, we invest into an acre of woodland in Snowdonia. New technologies mean that the latest UKFast owned data centres in Manchester will be energy efficient utilising natural gas to power and cool the facilities.
Investing in future generations
UKFast's Outreach Programme visits schools and other institutions in the Greater Manchester area giving presentations for pupils at GCSE level and above about opportunities and careers in the Internet, it's about educating them about their future possibilities.
Our Youth Sports scheme works through our association with the Sale Sharks. Not only does our sponsorship of the club contribute to their grassroots rugby training camps, but we offer youth teams across the country the chance to come and meet the Sharks and watch them play.
Fundraising
In 2007 and 2006 UKFast supported the Breast Cancer Campaign to help reach a target of £2.1m. We raised over £500 for the campaign.
Nineteen of UKFast's staff members took part in the BUPA Great Manchester Run for 2008 and one member tackled the Iron Man Triatholon Challenge this year all for charity Factor 50 who's donations go to helping fight skin cancer with Christie's.
Financial aide for growing businesses
BASEFund is about building a safer environment online. The fund was setup by UKFast to aid businesses in developing a robust online hosting solution. Afterall not every organisation can afford the top quality hardware and support to lock down their online business. But it is important that every business does this because of data security laws and the implication of loss of information.
